1. Scope
These terms govern your use of self-hosted Gauntlet (the server, runner, Helm chart, CLI and documentation, together the "Software") from [not configured: legal name] ("Gauntlet", "we"), and any license you buy for it. Sections 3 (acceptable use), 7 (self-hosted licenses and "Both"), 9 (intellectual property), 10 (confidentiality), 11 (warranties), 12 (liability), 16 (governing law) and 17 (general terms) of the Terms of Service also apply. Where they conflict, these license terms prevail. Without a license, the Software runs as the Community edition.
2. Community edition
You may install and use the Software free of charge, for any internal purpose, within the Community limits shown on the pricing page. No license key is needed. The Community edition comes without support and "as is".
3. Paid license grant
A Team or Business license grants you, for its term and against payment, a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use one installation of the Software with the features and limits of the licensed plan, for your internal business purposes. An installation is one Gauntlet server deployment with its own installation ID (shown on its License page, /settings/license), including its runners and environments. Staging or disaster-recovery installations need their own license unless agreed otherwise.
4. How licenses work
- A license is a signed text (starting
GNTL1.) stating the customer, plan, limits, term and, once bound, the installation ID. The Software checks it offline against our public keys; it needs no permanent connection to us. - Each copy is valid for about 30 days within the paid term. While the subscription is paid, the installation fetches a fresh copy from this website automatically, sending its installation ID and current license (and, like any connection, its IP address). Without internet access, an admin downloads a fresh copy from the license account and pastes it in.
- A license not yet bound to an installation binds to the first installation that renews it.
- To move a license, choose "Use on another installation" in the license account. The old installation then stops receiving renewals and keeps working only until its current copy runs out.
5. End of term and grace
If the subscription is cancelled or a renewal is not paid, the license keeps working until the end of the paid term and then for 14 days of grace. After that, the installation falls back to Community limits. Nothing is deleted: environments, runs and data stay in your installation.
6. Restrictions
Except where these terms, an open-source license under section 7, or mandatory law allow it, you must not:
- remove, alter, forge or work around license checks, keys or plan limits, or alter a license text;
- use one license for more than one installation at a time;
- sell, sublicense, rent or lend the Software or a license, or offer the Software's functionality to third parties as a hosted service;
- reverse engineer the licensed features, except as permitted by law for interoperability;
- use the Software to test systems you are not authorized to test, or otherwise contrary to the acceptable-use rules in section 3 of the Terms of Service.
7. Source code and third-party components
Parts of the Software may be published under a separate source license; where so, that license governs those parts and these terms govern the licensed features and license keys. The Software includes third-party open-source components under their own licenses, which prevail for those components.
8. Updates and support
- During a paid term you may install all updates we release. After it ends you may keep using the versions you have, within Community limits.
- Support for paid plans is by email at hello@usegauntlet.dev, on a reasonable-efforts basis; response times only if agreed in writing.
- We support the current release and may require an update to resolve an issue.
9. Your data
The Software runs on your infrastructure. Your apps, test data, recordings and model keys stay there; we receive none of them. The only data we receive from an installation is its license renewal request (installation ID, current license and the connection's IP address). You choose and contract with your model provider or AI gateway. For purchases and the license account, see the privacy policy.
10. Verification
Once a year, on written request, you confirm in writing the installations that use your licenses. If you used more than licensed, you buy the missing licenses at the current price from the start of the overuse. We do not carry out on-site audits unless agreed in an enterprise contract.
11. Warranty and liability
For 30 days after purchase, we will fix or, if we cannot, refund a paid license whose Software does not substantially work as documented. Beyond that, the Software is provided "as is" under sections 11 and 12 of the Terms of Service; the liability cap refers to the license fees paid in the previous 12 months.
12. Termination
A paid license ends at the end of its term unless renewed. Either party may terminate it for a material breach not cured within 30 days of notice. On termination, paid features stop and the installation falls back to Community limits as in section 5. Your right to the Community edition ends if you breach section 6.
13. Export control
You will comply with the export control and sanctions laws of Switzerland, the EU, the USA and other applicable countries, and will not provide the Software to sanctioned persons or territories.
14. General
These terms are governed by the law of [not configured: governing law and venue], as set out in the Terms of Service. We may update them for future terms; the version in force when a term starts or renews applies to that term. Questions: [not configured: legal contact email].
